Obituary of Stephen Lammann

Stephen Lammann Obituary Stephen Lammann age 79 of Lake Placid passed away on October 9th, 2025 at Elderwood of Uihlein after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. He was born September 10th, 1946 in Linz, Austria and immigrated to the US in 1951 where he settled in Avon-By-The-Sea, New Jersey with his parents. From a young age, he fell in love with hockey and played throughout grade school and high school. He went on to receive his bachelors degree from Memphis University, where he continued to play hockey. He made it through the final round of try outs for the New Jersey Devils, but was drafted to serve in the US Army. He served from 1970-1972, where he was stationed in Germany and played with the Zweibrucken Warriors League. After serving, he returned to New Jersey. He continued to play hockey for the semi-pro league, the New Jersey Brewers from 1973-1974. He moved to Adirondacks with his wife Karen in 1977 before the Olympics. He worked as an electrician and continued to play hockey for the local league The Roamers. In 1985 he coached the high school hockey team. His great passions, were hockey, fishing and cracking jokes. His sense of humor and smile will be so greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen Lammann of Lake Placid, NY; His Daughters Nicole Lammann of Lake Placid, NY and Amelia Monks of Boulder, CO. Calling hours will be held Monday, October 20, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with an American Legion Prayer Service at 2:45 pm at the M. B. Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY. Burial with Military Honors will follow at North Elba Cemetery, Old Military Rd, Lake Placid. The M.B.Clark, Inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid, NY is in charge of arrangements.
