Kevin saved my life. Here I am a 42 year old man with three sons. Working hard and providing well for them. I owe so much of this to Kevin. I was sent away for behavior problems in my young teens. Kevin was my counselor. The man he was gave me the wisdom to change my life. Whenever I tell anyone about my rough childhood the story always ends with “then I met a man name Kevin in lake placid who saved me!!! I’ll never forget the talks we had or the rides in this huge yellowish caddy. I’m so sorry to find out of the loss of Kevin. Rest in peace big Kev. When I met him he was 350 pounds id guess. I went back to lake placid years later to tell him thanks. He was so skinny. I was proud of him. Love always Jason

Gone way too soon like a lot of people . Growing up in Howard Beach is something only those who lived it can know what it was like. The O'Reilly family lived next block over from me . My earliest recollection was the St Helen swim team which was run by Kevin's dad John. Being on the team with John & Timmy and then Kevin came along later since he was 4 years younger than me. Great family . I connected with Kevin on Facebook and enjoyed reading his posts. I send his whole family my love and support during this difficult time.

I went to school with Kevin at St. Helens in Howard Beach. I remember him as a kind and fun guy. He was always making the class laugh and smile. Even the nuns loved him. I am sooooo SORRY to hear this. I meet KEVIN we he started working at CVPH as a nurse. I had an instant connection when I meet him. He was a funny fun loving cheerful guy who loved his family dearly. He used to tell me stories about him and his brothers and cousins when they were younger and always had a big smile telling them. He will be missed, once again my condolences to you and your family.

My deepest sympathy. I am so shocked and sad to here this. Great memories with Chip and Dale softball as Kevin preserved my no hitter in August of 1982 with a diving catch as we beat Al's stereo 4-0. I still have the signed Baseball.
