Donald "squirrel" Stillwell, 72 of Edgewood way, Lake Placid, NY passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, NY surround by family. Don was born June 3, 1946 in Manhattan, New York the son of LeRoy and Beatrice Stillwell. He was the brother of Roy Stillwell and Barbara Stork. Don leaves behind his wife Carol Stillwell; one son, Stephen Stillwell and his wife Jess Stillwell; two daughters, Samantha Stillwell and Stephenie Ledwith and her husband Christopher; and six grandchildren, Kylee, Koree, Nevaeh, Hannah, Emmett, and Jayden.

 

Donald grew up in the bronx and moved to the adirondacks in his teens and after a few years he moved to Oneonta, NY where he worked for Medi Coach alongside his brother Roy. He return to the Adirondacks where he was employed from 1988 to 2005 by ORDA at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, NY.  Don enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren. He had a passion for history, and collected stamps and sports cards in his spare time. Don will be greatly missed.

 

Calling Hours will be held on Friday November 2, 2018 from 6 to 8 PM at the M. B. Clark, Inc., funeral home in Lake Placid, NY. Cremation will follow. Relatives and friends are invited to share a memory or leave condolences at www.mbclarkfuneralhome.com . Donations may be made to the Tri-Lakes Humane Society in his memory.
