Ramon Charles Grady, 87, of Jay, NY and formerly of Lake Placid, NY passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 after a short illness. Ramon was predeceased by his wife, Ann Murr Grady and two sons, Scott and Clint Grady. He was also predeceased by his brothers, George and Robert Grady as well as three sisters, Pat, Elizabeth and Lilian. He is survived by one son and his wife, Thomas and Phyllis Grady of Malone, NY. and his daughter-in-law Beth Hesseltine Grady and a single grandson David Grady of Salt Lake City, Utah and several nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. Ramon was born in Lake Placid, April 22, 1934, and except for a few years in the military and for advanced education, he lived his entire life in the Adirondacks. In the 1950s, he was employed by O'Neil's Pharmacy in Lake Placid and remained there through several transitions until it became Fay's Drugs. He retired from there. Ray's interests included restoring old clocks. Among his collection was a grandfather clock he built from the ground up and several Seth Miller clocks. Both he and Ann greatly enjoyed spending time in camps they owned in several areas of the Adirondacks. They would spend most of their free time at those camps which included Cameras Pond, Lewis and Jay. Ray and Ann both loved animals and over many years kept a variety of dogs, cats, several horses and numerous animals ranging from monkeys to exotic birds. Calling hours are from 1PM to 2:45PM on Sunday, Aug 22 at M. B. Clark, inc., Funeral Home in Lake Placid. The funeral service will follow at 2:45 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Derek H. Hansen officiating. Burial will be in North Elba Cemetery following the service, Rev. Derek Hansen will officiate and the American Legion, Post 326 Lake Placid, NY will provide Military Honors. Donations in memory of Ramon may be made to the AuSable Forks Volunteer Ambulance service, 26 School Lane, AuSable Forks, NY 12912 or Jay Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 183 Jay, NY 12941 The M.
